Clinical Shadowing

When Michael isn’t working, he is constantly searching for his next adventure. Michael is a nationally registered paramedic and graduate from the University of Pittsburgh’s B.S. in Emergency Medicine program. Michael also holds his International Diploma in Mountain Medicine (DIMM) from the University of New Mexico’s School of Medicine. Currently, Michael works as a Critical Care Flight Paramedic in New Mexico, performing adult/pediatric/high-risk obstetrical retrievals and scene calls. Prior to that, he spent two years working as a Park Ranger Paramedic for the National Park Service in Yosemite National Park. Additionally, Michael has urban EMS experience in both Pittsburgh and Washington D.C. Michael has served as an item writer and subject matter expert for the National Registry of EMTs (NREMT). He is also an active member of the Wilderness Medicine (FAWM). Michael’s love of travel has led him to work as a Flight Paramedic in Tanzania for Arusha Medevac and a Paramedic/Clinical Instructor in Haiti and Vanuatu. Michael’s clinical background includes remote/international medicine, critical care, search and rescue, and advanced airway management. He is passionate about providing quality medicine in the most austere environments.
